The background for this job, was a request from the end client to enable streaming of ROV subsea video for onshore viewing.
Imenco’s SubVIS Orca camera was configured onboard the vessel, and the video stream was sent through the Inmarsat VSAT satellite system to the contractors main office, further through a GSM 4G mobile network to the client computer. The resolution and frame rate of the video had to be somewhat reduced to enable streaming through the narrow VSAT channel.
All tests carried out were proven successful and the client was very satisfied with the result.
