The Imenco Bottom Releasable Guidepost GPBR is used on subsea structures where there will be side access by ROV to the posts’ receptacle. The post is easily deployed, installed and retrieved using the guidewire with standard Guidewire Anchor or Lifting Anchor. The post fits into a type RBR Receptacle which incorporates a solid locking pin for locking down the post. When the post is fully landed, the pin can be easily operated by ROV (or diver) for lock down (L) or release/ unlock (U) of the post.
The locking pin engages a circular locking groove at the lower section of the post enabling locking independent of post orientation. The locking mechanism also incorporates a safety lock arrangement that prevents unintended pin operation and release of post caused by any vibrations, cable snagging etc. The Imenco Bottom Releasable Guidepost GPBR type posts have been widely used during the last 10-15 years and have proven to be very efficient and reliable.
The posts are made from carbon steel, sandblasted and painted to meet offshore standards or specific client requirements. They are supplied with full documentation package, including CoC, manufacturing record book, test reports, user manual and maintenance instructions.
The Imenco Bottom Releasable Guidepost GPBR can be delivered with different diameters, lengths and strength according to client specifications. The bottom release post versions range from small posts for guiding of e.g., pods and small tools up to large post for installation of heavy modules.
Special customized designs are also available on request.
