-We are looking for people who want to design the technological solutions of the future

As a leading provider of technology solutions for the maritime industry, Imenco is experiencing strong and increasing growth in demand for its products and services. This is also the reason why Geir Trengereid, who is the department manager for Engineering Projects & Subsea Mechanical Products, is now looking for a special type of engineers. He is seeking engineers who want to be part of designing the future technological solutions for the maritime industry.

Trengereid is looking for more design engineers to strengthen his team and is seeking candidates who desire a versatile and innovative workday.

-Due to the amount of services we provide, these engineers will participate in several exciting projects that include everything from securing and preserving Viking ships to develop & deliver complex system packages, including a variety of mechanical, structural, hydraulic, electrical & automation, explains Trengereid. These engineers will become central players in a competent and international team, he continues.

As a design engineer at Imenco, one will have a varied and interesting workday where one follows the design and development process from start to finish. Responsibilities include the development of new innovative systems, mechanical solutions, and products in interdisciplinary projects, design and verification of one’s own solutions through calculations and technical tests, support to colleagues and sales in meetings with customers. One will also participate with technical support and documentation in tender processes, as well as support the production. All positions offer the opportunity for travel.

Imenco is well known for an innovative culture, and the company therefore seeks to associate with candidates with solid professional qualities. Trengereid is looking for candidates with a relevant engineering degree at the bachelor or master level, solid experience from mechanical product development, and motivation to solve complex design problems.

-The ideal candidates are able to work independently, but are also team players and have interdisciplinary contribution capabilities. It is an advantage if they have experience with Inventor or similar programs, knowledge of relevant standards and guidelines, Trengereid believes. He adds that good language skills in both Norwegian and English, as well as knowledge of Ansys and MathCAD and knowledge of lifting and handling, are important qualifications.

-For the right candidates, these positions could be the start of a new and exciting career. Imenco offers interesting challenges, a flexible and development-oriented environment with a high professional level and room to shape one’s own workdays, says Trengereid. He encourages interested candidates to get in touch for more information.
