Experienced Geophysical Party Chief (Broussard, LA, USA)

Imenco Survey Solutions is offering a job opportunity for an experienced Geophysical Party Chief to join our team. The role involves overseeing collection of hydrographic and geophysical data in a variety of environments.

The Geophysical Party Chief will be responsible for setting up and testing the online navigation suite, calibrating survey sensors, and conducting a 12-hour online shift while offshore. This includes overseeing data collection, managing equipment, ensuring safety protocols, and analyzing data to provide insights into subsurface characteristics. Strong leadership, organizational, and technical skills are essential for this role.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Set-up and operate hydrographic and geophysical survey equipment and survey vessel
• Calibration of hydrographic and geophysical survey equipment
• Responsible for installation, calibration, and operation of marine survey tools
• Acquire direct read sound velocity and/or CTD data and process the resulting information
• Maintain survey quality records (including daily logbook and DPRs)
• Instruction and performance monitoring of junior personnel
• Performance of work role in accordance with company and project policies & procedures
• Ensure that data gathered is in accordance with Survey project procedures
• Reporting of operational activities and logged data that does not meet acceptance criteria
• Take part in hazard identification and risk assessment as required by Client and Imenco Policies

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Geophysical Surveying in the offshore environment
• Appropriate offshore medical and offshore survival course
• Bosiet or HUET training certification
• TWIC Card

Required Skills:

• Exposure or working knowledge in Offshore Geophysical Survey with specialization in multibeam, side scan sonar, magnetometer, sub bottom profiler and CTD.
• Working knowledge of DGPS, motion reference positioning systems and calibration techniques
• Working knowledge in networking and interfacing
