During a recent Subsea campaign, Imenco provided an ROV tool for bolt tensioning. During the campaign the tool performed the equivalent of a 658 500 ton lift.
Lead designer Erling Iversen says; “Even if this total was divided by four tools and multiple cycles, it`s still a great accomplishment to do so subsea by only use of ROV. This without any damage to the main structure and interfaces.”
He further states that this equivalent is almost an incomprehensible strain to put on any equipment for remote subsea use. Optimization is already taking place to prepare the tool for new challenges.
