We are seeking electronic/systems engineers to design, test and implement solutions in a wide range of Imenco products and systems deployed over a range of industry sectors. The successful candidate will be working within a team of co-workers with extensive experience of subsea product solutions including through water acoustics, cameras, electronics, and sensor packages.
To develop hardware preliminary and detailed designs on various architectures, resulting in:
Updated Hardware, Design Document Schematics, Wiring Diagram, Hardware Design Inspection Reports, Bills of Materials, Hardware Prototype Test Specification, Embedded Analysis, Simulations, and Interface Specifications.
Key Responsibilites: (includes but not limited to)
Produce fit for purpose designs ensuring best design practice and all relevant standards and codes are adhered to from concept to prototype qualification and test
To analyse problems and specify, design, and implement hardware and firmware
To conduct/participate in hardware preliminary, prototype and detailed design reviews.
Use of in-house design tools e.g., Altium
Unit, integration and acceptance testing using different operating systems on various platforms (e.g. Linux, Windows, ARM7, PIC, MSP430, etc.)
Comfortable working on multiple projects.
Deliver support to Software Engineers for issues relating to hardware
To develop test firmware for hardware designs where appropriate
Be responsible for relevant documentation, development and testing of the hardware project.
Keep abreast of competing technologies and market trends in product area.
Mentor other team members to extend and enhance the skill set of the department.
Occasional travel to customer/supplier locations to provide development engineering support.Comply with management system procedures, including health and safety and environmental requirements within the company.
BEng (Hons) Electronic & Electrical Engineering or equivalent
In depth experience in component and systems-level design with low-power analogue/digital/micro/COTS technologies
Experience as an electronic design engineer
In-depth knowledge and experience of a range of Subsea/acoustics products, PCB Layout, Altium Designer software
Skills in National Instruments and C, C++ coding and Digital Signal Processing
The ability to communicate effectively with internal and external departments and work effectively in a team.
