Imenco acquires activities from Bauer Hydraulics AS and Bauer Hydraulic Motors AS

We take great pleasure in announcing the acquisition of the activity in Bauer Hydraulic Motors AS and Bauer Hydraulics AS. Imenco Bauer Hydraulics AS has taken over all activities of both companies, effective from October 1, 2014.

Bauer Hydraulic Motors AS / Bauer Hydraulics AS core business have been to design manufacture and market hydraulic cylinders and motors of all sizes. In recent years large and advanced cylinders have dominated the company’s sales, supplemented by motors of varying sizes

All cylinders and larger motors are produced at our facilities on Karmøy, Norway, while the smaller motors are produced at rented facilities in Ningbo, China. The companies have approximately 50 employees in Norway and 20 in China. The companies also provide specialized servicing of hydraulic systems both “in-house” and at customers sites.

Imenco is a consortium of wholly and partially owned companies founded in 1979 with total revenue of approximately 300 MNOK. The business is primarily related to subsea and maritime industries, with a strong focus on standardized as well as customized bespoke engineering solutions. Innovation is a core pillar of Imenco’s business profile, and with a solid engineering base, one of Imenco’s strengths is development of products and systems.

Imenco’s headquarters are based in Haugesund, Norway, with production facilities and workshops in nearby Grinde, Tysvær. Engineering/Sales offices in Bergen and Singapore, together with sales offices in Stavanger, Aberdeen, Houston and Lafayette – USA complete the group. In addition, Imenco is represented by agents in 12 countries.

Owner of Imenco and CEO in Imenco Bauer Hydraulics AS – Geir Egil Østebøvik explains that the takeover is part of a strategic growth plan for the Imenco Group. “We have previously been strong on mechanical and electronic solutions, but have been lacking competence and capacity in hydraulics. With Bauer we are increasing the scale of operations, and continuous development of our portfolio of products and services to the subsea and maritime sector is a strategic goal.

With the acquisition of Bauer we have found the history, brand and competency we have been seeking – 95 years of development, production and delivery of high quality hydraulic solutions. It is also exciting to see how we can develop the group and company with bases in existing premises and considerable capacity in Ningbo, China.
